Anthony Petrello is the current chief executive officer of Nabors Industries Ltd. He joined Harvard school of law where he pursued a Juris Doctor Degree. He later went to Yale University where he got his MS degree in Mathematics.
Lloyd Grove, the editor of the Daily Beast, went to the same college with Petrello. They were roommates in their freshman years. At the age 18 years, Petrello was a mathematics wizard, according to his roommate Grove. Grove says that he was disturbed and envious when he saw Petrello’s name at the top of the highest paid list in the US.
Tony as a Student
According to Lloyd, Petrello was a skinny public schooled student who was on scholarship from working-class Newark. Tony had a heavy Jersey accent and was loud mouthed. His eager demeanor stood out. Grove says that Petrello was a mathematics genius, but when he chose Harvard school rather than maximizing his mathematical brilliance, it was a big disappointment to Professor Serge Lang.
Early Career Life
In 1980s Tony Petrello thrived in corporate practice for Baker and McKenzie law firm Manhattan. In 1991 he got a job at Nabors as the Chief operating officer and was made President in 1992.

Anthony Petrello joined Nabors Industries in 1991. He was appointed to the company’s board of directors. He was also an active member of the executive committee. Over the years, he has served as the company’s chief operating officer and deputy chairman. Presently, he is the chairman of the board and president of the successful corporation.
